Samode Haveli Hotel, Rajasthan, (Golden Triangle)

Samode Haveli Hotel, Rajasthan is an Indo-saracenic town-house that’s perhaps ultimate place to stay within the walled city of Jaipur. This 200-year-old city mansion enjoys an unbeatable location and an interesting history, with 30 tasteful rooms of various sizes furnished in original Rajasthani antiques. Home to some stunning murals and frescoes, and with a verdant garden, it is difficult to believe the bustling city of Jaipur still exists once you’re inside the hotel. Samode Haveli Hotel has also one of the largest swimming pools in Rajasthan, wifi throughout, and a suite room called ‘Sheesh Mahal’ which many think the most romantic in the whole of India! The food is particularly good with a serious wine list regularly updated by the family. This is a fantastic stopover on any Golden Triangle package, and highly recommended.

Samode Haveli Hotel is perhaps 3-4, rather than a five star hotel, but with it’s smiling staff, period charm, and highly convenient location it really is hard to beat. Try to get a room higher up the building if you can as they come with their own balconies!

Tip - Some people love the call from the nearby mosque, while others find it off putting. Take ear plugs if you’re in the latter category.

“The garden is a quiet green oasis and the 150-year-old majestic mansion is the epitome of delightful, faded grandeur. The Samode family has lived here for years in the house that their ancestors built, and the feeling that the rambling building is lived-in and loved pervades every nook and cranny.” Tatler Travel Guide
