The only small, boutique hotel (neither a basic homestay nor a hosted, family run, communal dining hotel) in the backwaters, Purity has had the most magnificent first season and everyone is loving it. The location is sheer heaven – dining by the edge of the lake is an experience never to be forgotten – and the space, privacy and clean, bright, contemporary interiors are wonderfully refreshing. The artwork throughout the property is exceptional and the gentle, smiling staff make it a truly memorable place.

The Pure spa is being operated by KAMA Ayurveda who make some of India’s best and most luxurious Ayurvedic cosmetics. This is their first spa and it has been heavily overseen by the Malabar House professional team to ensure it is absolutely right for their clients. This clever meeting of minds has resulted in a glorious small, intimate spa where the synergy between property and spa works totally harmoniously. One of the exciting elements of the Malabar Escapes spa scene is that they will be offering a ‘continuous treatment’ whereby you may start a treatment at Purity and finish the treatment at Serenity where they have also just finished developing their spa which will also be operated by KAMA Ayurveda. This allows one to take a longer course of treatment without being confined to the same property throughout. It is pioneering and inspired! The spa treatments available are 3,5,7 and 14 days and they cover detox, rejuvenation, re-shaping (toning and slimming) and all treatments of 5 days or longer will be all inclusive (i.e. including all meals and beverages).
