This woman is truly a hero. She’s a philosopher, activist, eco-feminist and author. In 1993, Vandana received the Right Livelihood Award (also known as the ‘Alternative Nobel Prize’) “for placing women and ecology at the heart of modern development discourse.” She’s also Vice president of Slow Food international and has been instrumental in helping Indian farmers combat the threat of GMO’s.
